Hallucinations is the ninth volume in the Horror World of Junji Ito series. It was originally published in Japan in 1997. The chapters featured in this volume were also published officially for the first time in English in 2018, in the Viz Media Story Collection volume Frankenstein.

Toru Oshikiri[]
A young man caught up in strange events that may or may not be hallucinations. He has a short temper and is particularly sensitive about his height. He is very wealthy and lives alone in an enormous mansion while his parents are working overseas.
Takayuki[]
Oshikiri's kind, sensible older cousin who believes that the strange things happening around Oshikiri are hallucinations caused by Oshikiri's loneliness.
Alternate Oshikiri[]
Oshikiri's evil counterpart from an alternate dimension, who travels to Oshikiri's world and wreaks havoc. There are many versions of him from different dimensions. Alternate Oshikiri commits several murders and performs "experiments" causing horrific mutations. He claims to be the "real" Toru Oshikiri.
