The Akashic Records is the second chapter of Muma no Kikou.
Plot[]
Wataru Tsuchiyado is a journalist investigating reports of a mysterious dark cloud on the Sengoku Mountain. He travels there and sees Kyouko Byakuya, now a figure of legend. He chases after her but both he and Kyouko are captured by a crowd of people. A man, Kagerou Aido, introduces the group as "Indigo Shadow", an organisation which unravels the mysteries of the universe. He is its prophet and, through Kyouko, he can access the "Akashic Records": a library containing every bit of information in the universe from the beginning to the end. Aido therefore knows who Tsuchiyado is and why he's there. Aido was able to access all the information in the Akashic Records by meditating in Kyouko's presence, causing the cloud to appear. He now believes that it is the true form of the Akashic Records.
Kyouko interrupts and warns Aido to stop, or his actions will have serious consequences. He threatens her and instead orders his followers to concentrate on summoning the Akashic Records. The members of the group rapidly become possessed and emit a powerful energy which causes the tent they are in to catch fire. The cloud descends upon them. Tsuchiyado manages to get free and rescue Kyouko; they run, but he loses track of where they are and she leads him through a cavern to safety. The cloud now covers the entire area. He asks her if it's going to stay that way, but she doesn't answer, and vanishes. Some time later the cloud dissipates and the bodies of Indigo Shadow's members are found.
