Uzumaki is a four-episode anime series based on the Uzumaki manga. It is directed by Hiroshi Nagahama and produced by Production I.G and Williams Street. Colin Stetson composes the music.

The anime was announced in 2019 at Crunchyroll Expo and was initially scheduled to air sometime in 2022. It has been stated that the COVID-19 pandemic did not have an effect on the production.[1] Junji Ito has praised the creators and the anime itself, saying that "the manga is monochrome, only black and white, and they wanted to recreate it that way out of respect for the original, which made me very happy".[2] He also called the director "quite talented".[2]

In 27th of June of 2022 the official Twitter account for the anime adaptation posted an update about the production, announcing that the premiere would be delayed again with no new date announced.[3]

On the 26th of July, 2024, the anime was announced to be releasing on September 28th, 2024.[4][1]
